Jamal Crawford has responded on social media as his son, JJ Crawford, continues his journey towards becoming a top basketball player. The NBA legend responded to an interview done by his son where he explained where his recruitment was at, prompting an emoji-driven reply from Crawford senior.
JJ Crawford gave an update on where things stand with regards to his recruitment, with several programs such as USC, Tennessee, Alabama, Washington involved in trying to bring him in.
“I can’t count all the offers I have right now, I have like 18, I believe,” Crawford told Rivals. “Schools like Michigan, USC, Washington, Alabama, Tennessee, and more.”
Before the exit of Dusty May, Crawford also claimed that Michigan was a possibility, explaining how May’s presence made a big difference.
“Michigan is amazing,” Crawford said.
“They have a great head coach, I mean, really, the whole staff is great. They won the National Championship, and you know, they might win it again. They’re just a great program overall.”

During the course of the interview, the younger Crawford was asked about how he shapes up against his dad, who enjoyed a stellar career in the NBA.
“Obviously, right now, I’m a little taller than him when he was 16,” he mentioned. “I just turned 16 and am way taller than he was. At the same stage, I can pass it better and shoot it better. Dribbling, I’ll give him that. I mean, I can still dribble and everything, but he is one of the best to ever do it.”
On his choice of school, JJ Crawford said he wishes to go to a place which will help him improve his game.
“We’ve heard from schools like Arkansas, Duke, Kentucky, and some other schools, too,” Crawford explained.
“I’ll probably start looking at this recruitment and visits around my junior year.
“I want to go to a program that is going to get me better. Somewhere that is going to get me to the league and win a lot of games.”
