Tyran Stokes has kept the world waiting on a decision about his college basketball future. Teams, fans, and reporters are all scrambling for any new information around the top prospect’s commitment, and Jeff Goodman threw them a bone with his latest report on Stokes’ future.
In an X post, Goodman said a source told him that Stokes was planning to announce his decision on Monday. However, he kept things vague, sparking comments that things weren’t set in stone for the top-ranked player in the 2026 class.
Fans voiced their frustrations with both Stokes’ lack of clarity and Goodman’s seeming inability to commit to his sources.
In fact, Goodman himself replied to the tweet above with a playful “LOL. Probably true”, suggesting he too wasn’t going to believe anything around the Stokes story till he sees it alongside everyone else.
Kentucky Wait Nervously for Stokes’ Decision
Nobody’s waiting on Tyran Stokes’ decision more anxiously than Kentucky. The Wildcats have had a tough time in the transfer portal so far, with Mark Pope coming under significant pressure.
If Pope is able to land the best player in the recruiting class ahead of Kansas and others, it’ll be the boost his credibility needs to at least power through for another season.
