The Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team hired Dusty May in 2024 for their head coaching position. May was coming off a successful run with the Florida Atlantic Owls, which was his first head coaching stint, and he made the NCAA Division I regional Final Four run with them in 2023.
When he joined the Wolverines, they were a struggling team found at the bottom of the Big Ten rankings. In just two years, the 49-year-old has transformed them into one of the best teams in the country.
This year, the Wolverines are at the top of the Big Ten with 24 wins and one loss. They are 14-1 in the conference and remain unbeaten in away games. Their ongoing 10-game unbeaten run is the longest winning streak in the entire conference.
There’s no denying that May has made a massive impact in Michigan, and the continued success has brought more eyes to the program. With that, fans have become interested in the personal and family life of the coach.
Who is Dusty May’s Wife?
The Wolverines’ head coach is married to Anna May. They’ve been married for over two decades and have three kids together. Their sons are named Jack, Charlie, and Eli. His wife is from Bloomfield, Indiana, and is an occupational therapist.
Dusty met his wife when he played for his school’s basketball team, where she was on the team’s cheerleading team. The family is a big part of Dusty’s life. Even though he’s busy most of the year with his professional commitments, his family remains the focal point of his life.
“I am genuinely happy for Dusty, his wife Anna and their children Jack, Charlie and Eli, who have been so important to the Boca Raton community over their six years here in Paradise and will forever be FAU family,” Brian White, vice president and director of athletics, said when Dusty joined the team.
Dusty is now focused on winning a title with his team. Although the Wolverines are at the top of the table, they are facing strong competition from teams like Illinois, Purdue, and Nebraska.
The Wolverines are about to face the Purdue Boilermakers today at the Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. The next team in line to face the Michigan Wolverines is the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday at Capital One Arena in Washington.
