Cooper Flagg Reaches New ACC Mark in Points, Assists, and Blocks

Although high expectations can sometimes lead a player to crumble, Flagg has taken those expectations and not only lived up to them but is starting to exceed them. This is highlighted by Flagg’s latest milestone, where he’s made history once again.

Flagg, in just 26 games this season, has 500+ points, 100+ assists, and 30+ blocks. This statline is something that has not been accomplished in the ACC in the last 25 years.

Not only are those numbers wildly impressive, but think about the number of superstars that have come through the ACC in the last 25 years. Players like Zion Williamson, Kyrie Irving, Scottie Barnes, Paolo Banchero, and more were not able to accomplish this feat.

The statline also highlights just how unique of a player Flagg is. At 6’9″, Flagg can block shots at a high level, but with his guard-like play style and vision, he also can score from deep and pass the ball proficiently.

This accomplishment is the latest in what has been an awesome freshman campaign for Flagg.

As of right now, the Illinois native has the highest odds for the Wooden Player of the Year Award, and if he did win it, he’d become just the fourth freshman in history to take it home.

Flagg averages 19.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game. He’s shooting 48% from the floor and 38% from deep.

This milestone is just the latest in a long line of records to come for Flagg as he continues to lead the Blue Devils to a potential No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
