The transfer portal window is now closed, but some teams are still scrambling to land some big-time players. As teams continue scouring the portal for potential diamonds in the rough, On3’s Joe Tipton unveiled his list of transfer portal winners, with Louisville coming out on top.
1. Louisville Cardinals
There is no denying that the Cardinals have been very good at recruiting via the transfer portal. Add to that Jackson Shelstad, Karter Knox, Alvaro Folgueiras, De’Shayne Montgomery, and Gab Dynes, and the team looks good.
2. Texas Longhorns
Sean Miller is proving to be a good recruiter over at Austin, with Texas getting the likes of Isaiah Johnson, David Pinch and Amari Evans, along with Mikey Lewis and Elyjah Freeman.
3. Indiana Hoosiers
With the likes of Aiden Sherrell, Markus Burton, Bryce Lindsay, Jaeden Mustaf, Samet Yigitoglu and Daeen Harris, Darian Devries is off to a good start for the upcoming season over at Indiana.
4. Tennessee Volunteers
Rick Barnes continues to build up the Vols with additions like Juke Harris, Jalen Haralson, Dai Dai Ames, Miles Rubin, Tyler Lundblade, Terrence Hill and Braeden Lue.
5. Miami Hurricanes
Jai Lucas is continuing to impress with new additions for the Canes, such as Acaden Lewis, Somto Cyril, DeSean Goode, Nick Dorn, Quin Berger and Brent Bland.
6. Xavier Muskateers
Mike Nwoko is the clear headliner here, and he will be joined by Ruben Dominguez, Tru Washington, Chance Westry, Rolyns Aligbe, Nikolaos Chitikoudis, and Braden Appelhans.
7. Michigan Wolverines
After losing star forward Yaxel Lendeborg, the defending champs bounced back via the transfer portal, getting Moustapha Thiam, Jalen Reed and JP Estrella.
8. Missouri Tigers
Mizzou got five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr. and will be building around him. Jamier Jones, Bryson Tiller, Jaylen Carey and Kennard Davis Jr. will be the ones to back him up.
9. Houston Cougars
The Cougs have lost a lot via the transfer portal and the NBA draft, but Kelvin Sampson is making it clear that he can replace them fast with Dedan Thomas, Corey Hadnot, Delrecco Gillespie and Braden East.
10. Vanderbilt Commodores
Vandy has become one of the most improved programs in college basketball and it seems Mark Byington is continuing his success there with transfer portal additions like Sebastian Williams-Adams, T.O. Barrett, Ace Glass, Bangot Dak and Berke Buyuktuncel.
