Cameron Boozer is reportedly in contention to be the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft, with the Utah Jazz interested in landing the Duke Star. This is interesting since the franchise is one of his father Carlos Boozer’s former teams.
Carlos was with the Jazz from 2004 until 2010, his longest stint with an NBA franchise. He was selected for the NBA All-Star Game twice (2007, 2008) and was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2008. He now works as a scout for the franchise.
According to fans, it’s Carlos’ role as a scout that has allowed his son to shoot up the NBA Draft rankings.

Others thought it was obvious this would happen.

“He’s going to get a GM fired,” was another common joke
A few fans did support the Duke star.

Cameron Boozer’s numbers in the 2025-26 season with Duke
Cameron Boozer only spent one season with the Duke Blue Devils, but this was enough to make a big impression. He was named a Consensus First Team All-American and the National College Player of the Year, alongside a plethora of other individual accolades.
In 2025-26, he averaged 22.6 points (9th in the nation), 10.2 rebounds (13th in the nation) and 4.1 assists per game. He’s expected to be selected between the No. 2 and No. 4 spots in the NBA Draft.
