Will Wade is not a loved man in college basketball right now. He has assembled a roster with every player over the age of 20. LSU now has 8 new signings and none of them are high school athletes. There has been a lot of push back against Will Wade’s strategy in his return to LSU.
In his return, Will Wade was very clear on his intentions of signing international star and almost exclusively go for recruits who have gone pro. This strategy isn’t well accepted by many people in college basketball.
Recently, multiple analysts have taken to their X accounts and spoken out against Will Wade. Many believe that Wade is making a “mockery” of NCAA regulations. But there is no concrete proof that Tom Izzo is one of them. Analyst Jeff Goodman unloaded on Will Wade and claimed that he “sucks for college basketball.” After that slamming take, he also revealed what one of the top 20 head coach had some strong words about Will Wade. Then a fake account of Jon Rothstein posted that the rumored coach was Tom Izzo.
“Source: Tom Izzo is the coach who was NOT happy with the addition of RJ Luis to the LSU tigers roster. Izzo also remarked Wade is “one of the most useless basketball minds” in the sport,” fake account posted.
“You’re being an idiot a**hole for the sake of being an idiot asshole. What you’re doing is f*cking it up for everyone else.” These were the confirmed words of a top 20 coach, but it wasn’t Tom Izzo. There is no confirmation as to who said that about Wade.
Fans react after Tom Izzo rumored to slam Will Wade
Fans were fooled by the fake post and were divided on the rumor.
“If Izzo is paying players he is no different than Wade,” one fan voiced his opinion.
“Lots of crying. Would the reactions be the same if it were their favorite team? I mean if Wade works to get them eligible and it’s done properly and approved what’s the problem? It’s Wade is doing it, that’s where the problem lies,” another explained.
“I don’t disagree with some of his thoughts but who cares what Izzo thinks. Dude needs to adjust to the current state of basketball or just retire,” one fan lashed out.
“LSU is a sh*thole university led by the two most disgraceful coaches in all of college sports,” another fan accused.
“Welp, Izzo is ok in my book for life now,” one fan sided with Izzo.
“The amount of commenters who don’t realize this is a fake account is concerning,” one fan picked up.
“A fake quote that’s even more real than the real quote would be,” another realised.
