Auburn Tigers senior Johni Broome has had quite the year. With everyone talking about Duke freshman Cooper Flagg and how much of a phenom he’s been, it’s important to remember that Broome is on quite the run this year, playing arguably his best ball yet. So, what are his most outstanding accomplishments?

Johni Broome’s Most Impressive Feats
As the 2025 college basketball regular season winds down, we are gearing up for the most exciting time of the year: March Madness. It’s also time to start looking back on the season and see who excelled where and who may be winning some awards by the season’s end.
Auburn’s Johni Broome has played arguably the best season of his short career this season. He has averaged .504 shooting the ball, connecting on 197 of his 391 shot attempts.
He is also having a career-year rebounding the ball, picking up 100 offensive and 199 defensive rebounds for 299 total. He is playing arguably his best season as a part of the SEC.
Broome has 11 double-doubles so far this season. He’s averaging 18.0 points per game, eighth in the league in rebounds with 10.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
One of the coolest accomplishments for Broome is his 66 blocks this year, which is more than 30 Division 1 teams’ total. He did it all while missing two games and just playing two minutes in another game due to injury.
Broome has 15 games of scoring at least 20 points in 15 games while grabbing 10 rebounds. Earlier this season, Broome also became the fourth player in college basketball history to pick 2,500 points while grabbing 1,500 rebounds.

Earlier this week, Broome was also named a finalist for the 2025 Karl Malone Award. This award is given to the top men’s collegiate power forward. It was one by the likes of Zion Williamson, Obi Toppin, Drew Timme, and Keegan Murray, a who’s who of college basketball.
Whether scoring the ball or grabbing rebounds, Broome has been a major player for Auburn. One of his biggest strengths this season has been his ability to chase down players and get a lot of blocks.
So, while everyone has their eyes on Flagg and all he’s accomplishing as a freshman, it’s important to remember Broome. He’s played a major piece in how the Auburn Tigers’ season and now gives Auburn a real chance to go all the way in March Madness, too.
