Cameron Boozer is dating across conference lines, with his girlfriend, Yva Lauren Cao, attending Duke’s conference rival, the University of Miami.
Lauren Cao is a cheerleader for the Hurricanes and has even achieved honors for her performance in the discipline. She was named to the First Team-All Dade cheerleader list, which recognizes the top cheerleaders in Miami-Dade County.
She wished her dad a happy birthday this Friday. In a video she posted to her Instagram story, she can be seen dancing alongside her dad while wearing her Canes cheerleading outfit. Her dad was also in the Miami apparel.
On the image, she wrote:
“My bestie.”

Cameron Boozer and Yva Lauren Cao have been dating since 2024, when he was one of the top high school basketball prospects in the nation. At the time, the now Duke player was a five-star recruit, ranked as the third-best prospect in the nation for the class of 2025. Their relationship is relatively private, but they have appeared regularly on each other’s social media.
He attended Columbus High School in Miami, while Lauren Cao attended the local school, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy.
Cameron Boozer on His Odds For the 2026 NBA Draft
Cameron Boozer’s time at Durham, North Carolina, is almost certainly going to be limited to one season. He’s already considered one of the favorites to be the first overall pick of the NBA Draft, even before he has participated in his first March Madness.
However, that’s not on his mind at the moment. In an interview with Heavy Sports this week, he said the following about his NBA Draft odds:
“I’m not really focusing on that. I’m just focusing on what I got to do to help my team win right now. Obviously, we have some big games coming up, so I’ll just kind of do whatever I can to help my team win… I’ll just say that I’m a winner, at every level I’ve played at, and I’ll continue at the next level.”
At the moment, he’s third in the odds for the first overall pick of the NBA Draft. Above him are Kansas’ Darryn Peterson (+125) and BYU’s AJ Dybantsa (+100). His own odds stand at +450.
