Braylon Mullins was one of the major stars coming up from this season for the UConn Huskies. He saved the team from elimination at the hands of Jon Scheyer’s Duke in the Elite Eight. Hurley was absolutely animated after the last-second winner, and he has another chance to be happy for the upcoming season.
“BREAKING: Braylon Mullins is returning to UConn for his sophomore season, per his father. Averaged 12.0 PPG last year as a freshman. Dan Hurley and the Huskies are now firmly in play to reach the Final Four for the fourth time in a five-year span,” analyst Jon Rothstein reported.
Dan Hurley’s UConn was surprisingly the underdog for most of last season. The squad was not as highly rated, and neither was their form. The team was led by senior Alex Karaban. The other notable stars were Solo Ball, Tarris Reed Jr., and Silas Demary Jr.
UConn Huskies’ 2025-26 season
Most of the regular season, the Huskies were a hit-and-miss. They followed their disappointing 2024-25 season, where they came off a back-to-back national championship run in 2023 and 2024.
In the recently concluded season, the Huskies were on the brink of elimination in the March Madness, but one man miraculously brought them back to life. Braylon Mullins enriched himself in UConn history when his last-second three-pointer from the logo defeated the mighty Cameron Boozer-led Duke and sent UConn to the Final Four.
The Huskies had a fairly easier win as compared to the Elite Eight thriller and bested Brad Underwood’s Illinois in the Final Four. However, UConn was no match for a spirited Michigan team in the final.
