Terrence Brown halted his visits to address a personal situation with his family. He was reportedly scheduled to visit Kentucky. Brown, who averaged 19.9 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game this past season at Utah, has already visited Kansas and UNC.
While Brown has assured that he will soon get back to the visits, ACC’s UNC seems to be ahead in his recruitment. According to On3, the Tar Heels are confident about landing him in the transfer portal. Even the Kansas Jayhawks are viewed as a strong contender.
Adding more in favor of UNC and Kansas, Brown previously posted an Instagram story on Larry Brown, who has a connection to both blue blood programs. Brown played at North Carolina from 1960-63, served as an assistant there from 1965-67, and was the Kansas head coach from 1983-88.
Brown shot 45.3% from the field, including 32.7% from 3-point range last season. Over his three college seasons, including time at Fairleigh Dickinson, the shooting guard has scored 1,542 points in his career.
Mark Pope’s Wildcats could use Brown in the backcourt with Zoom Diallo. Before Brown, they also sparked interest in Alex Wilkins and Cruz Davis. However, before Davis could visit Lexington, he committed to Texas Tech.
Kentucky Moved On From Recruiting Top-10 transfer Paulius Murauskas
We’re 10 days deep into the transfer portal territory, and Mark Pope’s Kentucky has managed only one recruitment so far, and that is Zoom Diallo. They were onto Saint Mary’s forward Paulius Murauskas, who ranks eighth in On3’s top transfer portal players. However, it appears the Wildcats are no longer after Murauskas.
“Kentucky was another school to watch, but it sounds like the Wildcats have also moved on,” On3’s Joe Tipton wrote.
Like Kentucky, Louisville was also interested in him but they have also reportedly moved on. One rumor suggests that his recruitment might already be over after his coach with the Gaels, Randy Bennett, took the job at Arizona State. Many now assume the Sun Devils could be the prevailing destination in his transfer portal.
Moreover, Murauskas has also declared for the NBA draft and based on the result, he will decide whether he wants to come back for college. This has put off many teams, who are not willing to wait on his decision like Arizona State.
