Bob Chesney Keeps Rivalry Aside as Indiana Alum Mark Cuban’s Animated Discussion Appears

New UCLA Bruins football coach Bob Chesney presumably put the rivalry aside with famous business tycoon Mark Cuban during a recent men’s basketball game at his school. On Saturday, Jan. 31, coach Mick Cronin’s Bruins faced coach Darian DeVries’ Indiana Hoosiers on the former’s home court, the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California.

In a video uploaded by @BigTenNetwork on X/Twitter, Chesney was seen chopping it up with Cuban, an alumnus of the University of Indiana. Despite hailing from the school that UCLA was going up against, Cuban presumably put the rivalry with Chesney and the rest of UCLA aside. He was wearing a t-shirt that read, “UCLA Dad.”

This is because one of Cuban’s daughters, Alyssa, is a student of the UCLA program, which could be why he chose to let go of the Big Ten conference rivalry between Indiana and the Bruins. Chesney greeted Mark Cuban on the sidelines, as seen in the video, as Cuban introduced his daughter to the new Bruins football tactician and the company he was with.

Cuban is, of course, coming off the 2025-26 college football playoff final, where coach Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers clashed with coach Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes on the latter’s home pitch, the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Much to the delight of Cuban and the rest of the Indiana faithful, the Hoosiers won their first NCAA title in program history after beating Miami by six points, 27-21.

Meanwhile, Chesney was recently named as the head coach of the UCLA football program after his 2024-25 stint with the James Madison Dukes.

The Indiana Hoosiers Overcame The UCLA Bruins In A Double-Overtime Affair

Unfortunately for the UCLA Bruins faithful, their team lost a tight-knit affair against the Indiana Hoosiers by a mere point, 98-97, in a matchup that went the distance with two overtime periods.

UCLA now holds an overall record of 15-7 (7-4 Big Ten), while Indiana improves to 15-7 (6-5 Big Ten).
