Arizona Basketball Recruiting: Tommy Lloyd Adds 6-Foot-11 Dutch Standout Amid Koa Peat NBA Draft Decision

Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd received the commitment of 6-foot-11 Dutch forward Endurance Aiyamenkhue on Saturday. The four-star prospect, who has a wingspan of 7-foot-4, visited Arizona in late February. Baylor and Boise State were also considered by the Dutchman before he decided to commit to Lloyd.

Expected to bolster the frontcourt depth of Arizona, Aiyamenkhue averaged 11.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game for Orange Academy in Germany’s Pro B League. He had a career-high of 23 points and 11 rebounds in the game against BG Hessing Leitershofen.

In Arizona, he is expected to be a developmental player at five behind returning big man Motiejus Krivas.

In last year’s Adidas Next Generation Tournament, he averaged 16.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over four games. Aiyamankhue has also represented the Netherlands in FIBA at the U18 and U16 levels.

Apart from him, Arizona has also added five-star guard Caleb Holt and four-star wing Cameron Holmes. Through the transfer portal, Lloyd has signed guards Derek Dixon (North Carolina) and J.J. Mandaquit (Washington).

Moreover, though Koa Peat has declared for the 2026 NBA draft, he might return for one more season with Arizona. By May 27, Lloyd will know his decision.

Arizona Extends HC Tommy Lloyd’s Contract

It appears the University of Arizona is impressed with Tommy Lloyd leading the men’s basketball program, as they awarded him a contract extension this summer. Lloyd, who has been the head coach of Arizona since 2021, signed a new five-year extension, which will keep him with the program till March 2031.

The 2026 Naismith Coach of the Year will earn $7.19 million in his first year after the Arizona Board of Regents approved a new deal. His new contract also mentions his reporting authority and instead of the athletic director, it’s going to be to the University President Suresh Garimella.

“Coach Lloyd has been an invaluable leader who has built one of the best teams in the nation,” Garimella said. “It is clear that Arizona Basketball is very meaningful to the communities we serve. Under Coach Lloyd’s leadership, our Wildcat student-athletes have represented not just the U of A, but our entire state, on the national stage, inspiring all of us with heart and determination. We’re pleased ABOR has approved his contract extension.”

Earlier, there were rumors that Lloyd was contemplating a move to North Carolina, but he reaffirmed his commitment to Arizona.

Ever since taking over the program, Lloyd’s best result was the Final Four appearance in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Before that, he also won the Big 12 Tournament. In the first three seasons with the program, he also helped the team win two Pac-12 titles.
