The Oklahoma Sooners men’s basketball is on the way to building one of the strongest 2026 classes. Four-star shooting guard Quincy Wadley officially committed to Oklahoma on May 8, giving head coach Porter Moser his second major addition in the class.
He is ranked No. 54 in the SC Next 100 players for the Class of 2026 and chose the Sooners over programs like Cincinnati and LSU.
At 6-foot-4, Wadley averaged 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and over 2.1 assists per game during his senior year. Analysts labelled him as a “microwave scorer” because of his ability to get points on the board once he gets his rhythm.
“Wadley is a long and smooth scoring guard with a microwave-type ability to put points on the board in bunches once he gets hot,” 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein said.
Interestingly, he also imitates parts of his game after Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
“I try to go out and compete at the highest level. No matter what the coach needs me to do, I get it done. If he wants me to defend the best player, facilitate, or score, I’m going to get it done. I watch a lot of Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander) a lot, he has the best offensive bag in the league and does a lot of similar things to me and my game,” he said in an interview with Rivals.
Porter Moser Building a Balanced 2026 Class
Wadley now joins four-star forward Gage Mayfield in Oklahoma’s 2026 recruiting class, along with other experienced players, giving Moser a strong foundation to build on.
After finishing 21-16 last season and narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament, Oklahoma is clearly trying to get back in the game. The addition of Wadley gives them a boost and hope to make it to March Madness this year.
With roster spots still open, the Sooners are actively trying to lock elite players.
For Wadley, this decision was a personal choice.
“The people in Oklahoma really care about you,” he said, pointing to the program’s culture and sense of family. That connection helped Oklahoma edge out other contenders.
If Wadley develops as expected, he could become a key piece in Oklahoma’s push towards the NCAA Tournament.
