Cameron Boozer was picked No. 3 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. While the achievement calls for a celebration in itself, his mom’s appearance caught fans’ attention.
His mother, CeCe, was dressed in a sleek black outfit paired with stylish accessories and heels. She immediately caught fans’ attention as Cameron walked across the stage, after celebrating with his family, to greet NBA commissioner Adam Silver. Cameron has many times credited his family for helping him reach this point.
“Cameron boozer’s mom (or whoever is on his left) is STUNNING. GOOD GOD” – a user wrote.
During the draft broadcast, ESPN highlighted the role CeCe played in her son’s development.
“It was his mom, Cameron told me, who drove him to every single practice, every tournament, helped him find all of his trainers”
That support was seen again on draft night.
After hearing his name called, Cameron celebrated with his family in an emotional moment that reflected years of hard work behind the scenes.
“I don’t even know how to describe it, honestly, man, it’s crazy, it’s happiness. It’s a joy based on my whole life in a couple of seconds. So it was amazing for sure,” Cameron said when asked about how he feels about being selected No.3.
“Yeah. I mean, it’s my moment, but it’s our moment. You know, as a family, you see all sitting here, you know. I wouldn’t be here with any of these guys right here,” he added.
CeCe also reflected on the family’s journey, emphasizing the importance of faith and perseverance through challenges.
“I think it’s really just faith over fear,” she said. “So we battle that adversity as a family, and now we get to celebrate as a family.”
Who Else Was Present To Celebrate The Moment
Along with CeCe, former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, Cameron’s twin brother Cayden, older brother Carmani, and Cameron’s longtime girlfriend Yva Lauren Cao were all present to support him. Despite Carlos and CeCe divorcing in 2015, both parents remain involved in supporting their children’s careers.
Now, as Cameron prepares to begin his NBA career in Memphis, that support continues to push him further.
Cameron averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game in the 2025 season. It remains to be seen if he can carry the same level of performance into the NBA now.
