It wasn’t too long ago that the Alabama Crimson Tide’s college football team went through the transfer portal process. Now, with the college basketball program wrapping up for the season, a new volley of changes is set to take place.
Of course, with the process still in its early stages, not much has happened just yet. Still, it is already clear that some players will be departing. Here’s a look at what we know for sure and what could be happening beyond that.
Alabama Players Heading to Transfer Portal
Thus far, no players have publicly declared for the transfer portal, according to a Friday report by 247Sports. Of course, expect that to change in the coming days.
Alabama Players Expected to Leave Without Entering Transfer Portal
While the transfer portal hasn’t been used yet by any players, the roster is set to have some departures, assuming everything goes as is projected. At the time of writing, three players are set to lose their eligibility to play another college basketball season. It is not unheard of for a player to win another year of eligibility through a lawsuit or court hearing, but for now, three players are set to run out of runway.

Alabama Departure Rumors To Watch For
Aden Holloway might be the biggest name to watch. The star guard has been pivotal to the program, but his recent arrest amid drug-related charges could be the end of his time with the program. Holloway has one year remaining of eligibility, so if he can find a way back into the program, he could get one more run, but things are far from certain.
Labaron Philon has received NBA looks, so a departure could be in his future as well. Otherwise, players like Taylor Bol Bowen, Jalil Bethea and Aiden Sherrell could feel pressure to make something happen elsewhere if they believe things have not gone according to plan with Alabama.
