After taking down major programs such as Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Ole Miss during their playoff run, the No. 10 seed Miami Hurricanes have booked their place in the 2025 College Football National Championship, where they will host the No. 1 seed, the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers.
A major reason behind Miami’s dominant season has been the steady performances of star wide receiver Malachi Toney. As the Hurricanes prepare for the biggest game of their season, Toney received a public show of support from one of his biggest supporters—his mother.
In a heartfelt and encouraging message shared on X, Malachi Toney’s mother voiced her excitement for both her son and the Hurricanes ahead of their all-important Natty game, writing:
It’s almost time 💚🧡

On the field, the wide receiver has so far compiled 99 catches for 1,089 yards and nine touchdowns throughout the course of the 2025 season. He has also contributed 23 rushes for 113 yards.
Malachi Toney Speaks On Playing The CFB Final At Home
The Miami Hurricanes’ 2025 college football run has been nothing short of a spectacle. After finishing their regular season with an overall record of 10-2, a lot of fans and analysts alike did not think that Miami’s inclusion in the playoff stage of the competition was meritorious.
However, the Hurricanes have now proved a lot by beating the likes of defending national champion Ohio State, and naturally, they are proving a lot of their naysayers wrong.
Miami’s star wide receiver Malachi Toney, after qualifying for the national championship game against the Hoosiers, revealed his thoughts on playing the all-important final in front of his home crowd.
“It’s just a blessing that I could be able to put on and showcase my talent for them and the younger generation to show them that it’s possible”, Toney stated (1:03)
The 18-year-old freshman also revealed how big of a privilege it is to have a support system of people rooting for him ever since he was little.
