LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin has worked with several standout running backs since 2005 in college football. Given the history, it won’t be surprising to see LSU running back Harlem Berry taking the college football by storm in the 2026 season.
A LSU fan posted a screenshot of the extraordinary backs who have flourished while playing under Kiffin in college football since 2005. The list included stars such as Reggie Bush (1,740 yards, 16 TD in 2005), Derrick Henry’s historic 2,219-yard, 28-touchdown Heisman campaign in 2015, and multiple 1,000-yard rushers during his FAU and Ole Miss tenures, including Quinshon Judkins and, most recently, Ulysses Bentley IV and other Rebels standouts. The post also assumes that Berry will have a great season in 2026.
Kiffin reposted it on his X account and shared a short reaction:
“JustDifferent”
In 2025, Ole Miss Rebels running back Kewan Lacy made Kiffin proud by rushing for 1,567 yards on 306 attempts, including 24 touchdowns. First, that’s the most number of rushing touchdowns any running back has scored under Kiffin. Second, his rushing yardage just comes second to Derek Henry and tied with Quinshon Judkins among all the running backs featured in Kiffin’s system.
Therefore, expectations are high in Baton Rouge for five-star recruit Harlem Berry.
After signing with the Tigers, the No. 1 running back in the 2025 class, amassed 491 rushing yards on 104 carries and two touchdowns.
Harlem Berry Decides to Stay Put With Lane Kiffin’s LSU
One of the main reasons for Harlem Berry to commit to LSU was running backs coach Frank Wilson, who has now left to take the same position with Lane Kiffin’s former team and Ole Miss’ coaching staff under Pete Golding.
“I built a great relationship with (LSU’s former running backs coach Frank Wilson),” Berry said. “All the other coaches at the other universities, I felt that they could get me where I needed to get. But it was just that connection I had with coach Frank. It was more than just football.”
After the Wilson move, there were concerns about whether the five-star recruit would also follow him and join the Rebels for the 2026 season. However, the running back has decided to stay in Baton Rouge and will return for the 2026 season under head coach Lane Kiffin. He’s expected to be the lead back for LSU in the 2026 season.
