While Notre Dame did not make it to the College Football Playoffs, running back Jeremiyah Love still left a big impression, and many scouts are gushing over one of the top prospects in the position. He is a possible Top 10 pick, with him probably going No. 8 or No. 9. However, if it were him who could pick where he would go, which team would the running back play for next season?
Ahead of his NFL Combine appearance, Jeremiyah Love answered that very question, and it seems that he wants to stay close to home in Missouri, as he grew up in St. Louis, and he admitted he wants to play alongside a superstar quarterback.
“I’d be close to home. I feel like [Patrick Mahomes] is the best quarterback as of right now. It would be an honor to play with him,” he said.
Love had a dominant season, with 1,372 rushing yards on 199 carries, scoring 18 touchdowns during the 2025 season. He is also good at the passing game, getting 27 receptions on 280 passing yards, even scoring three touchdowns in the process.
With those numbers, he could even go earlier in the draft, though the likeliest would be at No. 8 with the New Orleans Saints, or at No. 9 with the team that he wants to play for, the Kansas City Chiefs. He could play well for his home state’s team, as Patrick Mahomes needs all the help he can get, especially after Travis Kelce announced his retirement.
Jeremiyah Love Has Reportedly Met One Interested Team During NFL Combine
Love is currently in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, where he will be showcasing his athletic ability in front of scouts on Saturday. Reports are now indicating that he has met with the Los Angeles Rams, which have the No. 13 pick.
Los Angeles actually has a very stacked RB room, but a young addition to learn from some of the best could seal their future. However, it is more than likely that other teams could snap Love up before the Rams could pick him at 13.
