Jaxson Dart shared a heartfelt message on Instagram after his younger brother, Diesel Dart, announced his commitment to Utah. While some fans wondered whether the younger Dart would follow his brother’s path to the SEC, Diesel instead chose to take a different route to continue his family’s legacy with the Utes.
Shortly after Diesel Dart made his commitment official, Jaxson took to Instagram to show his support. Sharing a clip of his brother, the Giants quarterback wrote:
“Staying Home ❤️ Go Utes‼️ Proud of you @dieseldart.”

Diesel’s decision marks a significant recruiting win for Utah and head coach Morgan Scalley. The three-star athlete from Corner Canyon High School had received interest from several other programs, including Ole Miss, BYU, Michigan, Arizona and Auburn.
For Utah, this commitment means a lot as Diesel is a legacy recruit whose father, Brandon Dart, played safety for the program during the late 1990s. Now, another member of the Dart family will be contributing.
How Did Utah Land Diesel Dart
Although Ole Miss and Diesel had a connection through Jaxson Dart’s success with the program, Utah still made efforts to go after Diesel. The Utes offered Diesel more than a year ago and maintained a consistent relationship with the young safety.
The strategy paid off.
Diesel canceled a scheduled official visit to BYU after visiting Utah and soon announced his commitment.
Last season, he recorded 48 tackles and two interceptions. His physical style of play and versatility made him one of Utah’s top defensive prospects in the 2027 class.
Diesel becomes Utah’s 12th commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle and the first safety pledge in the class. His commitment strengthened the program with homegrown talent.
For Jaxson Dart, the moment was very personal. After having his own successful college career and then playing in the NFL, he now gets to watch his younger brother begin his journey at the school where the Dart family roots run deep.
While Ole Miss fans may have hoped for another Dart on their team, Jaxson’s reaction made one thing clear: he fully backs Diesel’s decision to stay home and represent the Utes.
