Paige Shiver, who was in a relationship with Sherrone Moore till December 2025, filed a lawsuit against the University of Michigan in Washtenaw County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Shiver, who was Moore’s executive assistant, alleges that the university wrongfully denied her public records requests six times for information related to the Moore investigation, months after he was fired as the Wolverines’ head coach for his inappropriate relationship with her.
In the lawsuit, Shiver’s lawyers stated:
“Throughout the duration of her employment with the University of Michigan, SHIVER was discriminated against and subjected to a hostile work environment on the basis of her sex, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Michigan law including Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act, In addition, unidentified University of Michigan employees violated SHIVER’s privacy rights as well as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act through unauthorized access of SHIVER’s medical records.”
In April, the former Michigan head coach was sentenced to 18 months of probation after he pleaded no contest to trespassing and the malicious use of a telecommunications device.
The charges faced by Moore were derived from an incident that took place on December 10th, where he broke into Shiver’s house and threatened to kill himself and her with kitchen knives.
Moore was announced to be fired from his job as the Michigan football head coach shortly after the incident.

During an April 24 interview with CBS, Shiver spoke about several aspects of her relationship with Sherrone Moore.
Shiver said that Moore and the other coaches at Michigan had complete control over her, especially the former head coach.
She also said that every time she tried to pull away from their relationship, Moore always had a story and a way to pull her in, making her feel that if she left him, he would be miserable.

Shiver also revealed that Moore had impregnated her during their relationship, which she decided to abort after doctors warned her about the complications that came with the pregnancy.
