Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs have been on a dominant recruitment run over the last few weeks. They’ve added over half a dozen new players to the roster, flipped commitments, and they’re still going strong.
The newest addition to the Bulldogs program is a four-star OT Kennedee Jackson, who had previously committed to Florida. Jackson had been committed to the Gators since June 2nd, and now he’s a part of Kirby Smart’s program.
As per the 2027 Rivals300, Jackson is the No. 8-ranked OT. Needless to say, it’s a big win for the Georgia program. However, college football fans aren’t impressed by it because some of them believe that the Bulldogs used money to flip his commitment.
“Lordy mercy…..money is the root of all evil,” a fan wrote.
“Offered more money plain and simple !…..I’m tired of these athletes getting big dollars for simply playing a game !…..RIDICULOUS!…entertainment is so f****ng overrated!…teachers ,police, firemen, all should be compensated more !” a fan wrote.
“What’s the point of committing to a school if you’re just going to flip 11 days later,” a fan questioned Jackson’s decision.
“We saw it coming… dude had a uga shirt on for god sake lol… we have a oline coach we’ll be just fine,” a fan wrote.
“Georgia pulled him back already. 11 days with Florida and he flips. That’s wild. What does this mean for their O line class now? They stacking up big,” a fan wrote.
“Here we go….it’s starting… They will lose 3 or 4 more before the season is over,” a fan wrote.
It’s not uncommon for players to flip their commitment in the current era of college sports. However, with money possibly playing a role in these decisions, fans don’t like to see such moves being made by players.
Kirby Smart’s 2027 Recruiting Class Looks Stacked
Kirby Smart has added 12 players to his 2027 recruiting class so far. The team is already full of talented players with a lot of potential, but Kirby and the Bulldogs aren’t willing to rest anytime soon.
They will continue to pursue more players, offering them benefits that might make them reconsider their previous commitments. As for the current state of his 2027 recruiting class, Kirby has plenty of talent to work with.
Jackson will join RB Kemon Spell, TE Jaxon Dollar, OT Kelsey Adams, OT Ty Johnson, OL Abraham Eisenhower, RB Noah Parker, LB Temorris Campbell, DL Waylon Wooten, WR Taurean Rawlins, OT DJ Dotson, and QB Colton Nussmeier as part of the class.
