That is buoyed by an out-of-conference slate that features an FCS outfit (North Dakota Fighting Hawks) and a Group of Five program (the Arkansas State Red Wolves) sandwiching their El Assico rivalry with the Iowa Hawkeyes, which takes place in Iowa City this year.
As a result, the Cyclones should take a winning record into their conference slate. The Big 12 operates a nine-game format featuring four or five road games in alternating seasons. The Iowa State 2024 football schedule includes four road games that help contribute to their strength of schedule.
