Ferris State University football is currently looking to rebuild its team after a massive transfer portal exodus. Head coach Tony Annese admitted that after the annual spring game on Friday, the team had a lot of work to do after the transfer portal exodus they experienced in recent weeks. Annese said the transfer portal “threw us for a loop,” but the team is already looking to rebound from it.

Ferris State Battles Transfer Portal Chaos In A Fight To Stay On Top
Ferris State faces a huge battle to stay on top after the transfer portal chaos they faced. However, Annese remains optimistic that anything can still happen amid their unprecedented chaos.
Ferris’ transfer portal losses place more importance on spring football, and this means that young prospects and players who were previously on the periphery will have the chance to step up and be key players in the coming season.
“The unexpected should be expected,” Annese said. “That’s the way things are now. It’s a different culture. And a different way of doing things.”
Ferris has released the names of key players that they’ve lost to the transfer portal. These players played a key role for Ferris last season, but many of them have already committed to other teams ahead of the upcoming season.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has committed to Ole Miss and linebacker Sefa Saipala has also committed to Western Michigan. Offensive linemen Lawrence Hattar and Bryce George have both committed to Michigan State and Iowa respectively.
Although he was injured during the second half of last season and didn’t feature in a single game in the postseason, defensive back Jacarvis Alexandre has also declared for the transfer portal and committed to Jackson State.
How Ferris State Plans To Rebuild After Transfer Portal Exodus
Aside from the players who have already committed elsewhere, running back Kannon Katzer and wide receiver Tyrese Hunt Thompson, who was injured last season and only featured for the first two games, have also entered the transfer portal but are yet to commit to new teams.
Ferris State is already making plans to rebuild following their unprecedented transfer portal exodus.
Several players went into the portal the last couple of weeks but came back out and decided to return to FSU, and this represents the perfect place for them to start their rebuild.
Head coach Tony Annese has expressed his confidence that the team will be able to fill the quarterback spot adequately after they lost Trinidad Chambliss.
