The Colorado Buffaloes have been central to rich NFL legacies over the decades. And Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders added another pro hopeful set to embark on his journey in Boulder.
On Sunday, Sanders secured the commitment of Class of 2027 offensive lineman Jayin Talib. The 6-foot-2, 275-pounder is the nephew of Aqib Talib, a former Super Bowl champion. Talib chose CU over offers from Memphis, NC State, Texas Tech and others.
Talib, an unranked offensive lineman, announced his commitment alongside three-star EDGE Drew Sapp. Jayin Talib goes by “Boogie.”
Meanwhile, Sapp visited Colorado on June 12 and has another visit lined up to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on June 19. He becomes the fifth Buffaloes commit from Florida. He joins other edge commitments in Ba’Roc Willis and Jovon Pulliam.
His uncle, Aqib Talib, was a five-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos.
Colorado Surges In 2027 Class With 16 Commitments
Drew Sapp and Jayin Talib’s commitments have pushed Colorado’s 2027 recruiting class to 16. The two additions have helped CU’s recruiting, which is ranked No. 39 in the nation and No. 4 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports.
Here are all the players from the 2027 recruiting class of Colorado (excluding Jayin Talib):
- Four-star quarterback Andre Adams
- Four-star wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray
- Four-star safety Gabe Jenkins
- Three-star offensive lineman Li’Marcus Jones
- Three-star edge rusher Ba’Roc Willis
- Three-star safety Samari Howard
- Three-star defensive lineman Kenny Fairley
- Three-star offensive lineman Jaiden Lindsay
- Three-star cornerback Davon Dericho
- Three-star running back Steven Alexis
- Three-star offensive lineman Zaquan Linton
- Three-star edge rusher Drew Sapp
- Three-star cornerback Prince Washington
- Three-star edge rusher Jovon Pulliam
- Three-star cornerback Will Rasmussen
After converting five commitments from the prospects visiting Colorado, SI’s Charlie Viehl shared five other prospects who could align their interests with Deion Sanders’ program. They are:
- Jaiden Lindsay, interior offensive line
- Zaquan Linton, offensive tackle
- Jovon Pullian, linebacker
- Samari Howard, cornerback
- Steven Alexis, running back
It’s important to note that while last season Sanders failed to do much on the recruiting front because of gall bladder removal surgery, he has been active this offseason, and the results are there for everyone to see.
