Lane Kiffin spent six years as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels before joining the LSU Tigers in November. However, during a recent interview with “Vanity Fair,” he highlighted that recruiting was a difficult job in the program.
Kiffin said that some top recruits would refuse to come to Oxford and play for the Rebels. He then said that such “segregation” does not exist in Baton Rouge, which caused an uproar in the college football world.
On Monday’s episode of “That SEC Podcast,” analyst Mike Bratton did not shy away from criticizing Lane Kiffin for his comments. He wrote that the latest comments just add to his “growing list of falsehoods.”
In the video, Bratton trolled Kiffin and took a jab at him and his authenticity.
“There’s a lot of thoughts on this,” Bratton said. “Shout out Lane Kiffin. Someone just described him to me as the only man that can burn a bridge while standing on it. I mean, that’s Lane Kiffin for you right there.
“Apparently, we’re segregated at Ole Miss. Keep in mind, he stayed there for six years. He had the opportunity to leave for Auburn that was offered to him. I’m sure he had many, many opportunities to leave Ole Miss and the segregated, racist place that it is, according to Kiffin, much like they tried to run him off the road and kill him. Remember, this is Kiffin saying this. There’s no record of that.
“Point being, I don’t know how in the hell anybody takes anything Kiffin says seriously. It’s all bulls**t and he’s all about himself and making himself look good. What does this do? This just hurts Ole Miss, right? A place he’s already burned to the damn ground. …Just when it started to die down a little bit, he has poured gasoline on this fire with more bulls**t, more complete fakery.”
In six seasons, Kiffin put up a 55-19 overall record with the Rebels.
FOX Sports’ Aaron Torres calls out Lane Kiffin for “segregation” comments about Ole Miss
Lane Kiffin’s comments about segregation in Ole Miss did not sit well with a lot of people online. One of them was FOX Sports radio host Aaron Torres.
In a tweet on X, he praised the LSU coach as an offensive guru, but also criticized him for putting the Rebels under a negative spotlight.
“Lane Kiffin is one of the best playcallers and offensive minds of my life. He is also a trainwreck off the field. Gotta admit though: Even for Lane Kiffin, this is unhinged and gross,” Torres said.
Last season, the LSU Tigers failed to make the playoffs, finishing with a 7-6 (3-5 SEC) record.
