Golf analyst Brandel Chamblee has been an active supporter of the PGA Tour amid its dispute with LIV Golf. The American golf analyst has vocally supported the Tour and has often shared his views on his social media handles.

On Monday, Chamblee replied to a fan talking about LIV Golf. He shared a long message on his X (formerly Twitter) account and talked about the politics in sports. He wrote:

“When I talk LIV or the Saudis, I’m not talking politics because golf became political, I’m talking politics because political power changed the game itself. Actors, musicians, and comedians usually express opinions. You can like them, ignore them, disagree, or turn the channel. Their political speech is additive, not foundational to how their industry operates. Golf, by contrast, has had: state-backed capital, geopolitical objectives, the sovereign wealth of Saudi Arabia and reputational strategy i.e. sportswashing directly reshape its competitive structure, governance, incentives, and ethics.”

The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund financially supports LIV Golf. It has successfully concluded four seasons and is gearing up for the new season.

Brandel Chamblee Opens Up About LIV Golfers Leaving the League

In the last few weeks, LIV Golf has made several changes to its league and signed some new faces, while some players have left the circuit. Brooks Koepka exited the league to rejoin the PGA Tour, while Patrick Reed has left the circuit.
Brandel Chamblee shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on January 29, talking about the players leaving LIV Golf. He wrote:

“LIV may have disrupted golf, but players leaving LIV is a tacit admission that the fans knew exactly what they WEREN’T talking about. LIV events have no drama, no meaning, no depth, team events that felt artificial and broadcasts that felt bought that never crescendoed.”

Koepka played in his event after returning to the PGA Tour at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open. However, he had a tough time on the greens and settled in a tie for 56th place.
Reed, meanwhile, applied for his PGA Tour membership as the past winner in the league. He is playing on the DP World Tour these days and is eligible to compete in the FedEx Fall Season events on the PGA Tour.
Meanwhile, the LIV Golf 2026 season will kick off in Riyadh this week. The circuit has signed Byeong Hun An for the upcoming season and also changed its format from 54-hole stroke play to 72-hole stroke play.
