Brooks Koepka jumped three spots in the Official World Golf Ranking after his PGA Tour return. The American golfer has played in his first event after returning to play on the Tour at the Farmers Insurance Open 2026.
He had a tough start to the game but managed to make the cut and settle in a tie for 56th place after four rounds. Within that, he jumped from 255th place in the OWGR to 252nd.
Koepka was ranked within the top 20 when he joined LIV Golf. However, in the last four years, although he was successful on LIV Golf, he did not receive ranking points and slipped down in the OWGR. He slipped out of the top 100 at the start of 2025 and was ranked 255th ahead of last week’s event at Torrey Pines.
Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler is still leading the OWGR, followed by Rory McIlroy in second place. Justin Rose has won the Farmers Insurance Open, and he jumped from 10th to third place in the OWGR. The English golfer kick-started his outing with an opening round of 62. He then played the next three rounds of 65, 68, and 70 to settle with a total of 23-under.
Brooks Koepka Reflects on His Performance at the Farmers Insurance Open
Brooks Koepka returned to play on the PGA Tour after four years and had a decent outing. He shared a few pictures of his outing on his Instagram account with a caption:
“Felt good to be out there grinding. Appreciate the support, more to come.”
Koepka also talked about the changes he had witnessed on the Tour after his return. He said:
“Obviously the biggest change is I feel like I probably don’t know about half the guys. The last four years has been a good bit of turnover. Yeah, that’s the one thing I’ve taken away. Half the guys I do know, the other half I don’t. It will be a fun year just getting to know everybody, and excited.
Brooks Koepka is next set to play at the WM Phoenix Open. Meanwhile, in the last season, the five-time major winner played on LIV Golf and was impressive with his game. He was close to winning the Singapore event, where he carded the three rounds of 67, 69, and 65 and was the runner-up.
Some of his other notable finishes in LIV Golf are T7 at the Adelaide event, T17 at the Korea event, and T29 at the Chicago event. Aside from LIV Golf, he also played in the DP World Tour and majors. He had a solo fourth-place finish at the FedEx Open de France event.
