Phil Mickelson drops a 3-word message as HyFlyers GC stand for a noble cause

Phil Mickelson showed his support for a military charity as his LIV Golf team, HyFlyers GC continued its work with Bunkers in Baghdad.

The organisation collects golf balls, clubs and other equipment and sends them to active-duty soldiers and veterans across the United States and in more than 80 countries. It also runs the Bunkers Buddies program where school children decorate golf balls and write cards for troops.

On January 31 Bunkers in Baghdad shared a post on X featuring kids working alongside Mickelson and the HyFlyers GC team. The post thanked them for helping spread encouragement to soldiers serving overseas.

    Mickelson replied simply:

    “I love this ❤️”

HyFlyers GC first teamed up with the charity in 2024. Last year they marked a big achievement having helped donate over 16 million golf balls and 1.6 million golf clubs to U.S. troops around the world.

The partnership focuses on supporting young people promoting sustainability and honoring the military.

The cause is personal for Mickelson whose father was a fighter jet pilot. The family has long supported military-related initiatives.

Phil Mickelson shares uplifting message with fans

Phil Mickelson recently posted a short but powerful note on social media that connected with many of his followers. In his message the golf legend reminded people that their value does not depend on success or recognition.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this but you are enough just by existing. Who you are in this moment is enough to make you special and unique. Know that. Have a good night,” Mickelson said.

Away from social media Mickelson has continued to show steady form on the course while competing in LIV Golf. During the 2025 season, he recorded his best individual finish in the league with a solo third place at LIV Golf Hong Kong. He also placed tied fourth at LIV Golf Virginia after closing with a strong 6 under 65 in the final round.

Those results marked a clear step forward compared to his earlier outings with the league and showed he can still compete at a high level. Mickelson is now set to feature at LIV Golf Riyadh, the first event of the Saudi-backed circuit’s season. The LIV Golf Riyadh will be played from Friday, February 5 to 8 at Riyadh Golf Club.
