Anthony Kim is back grinding on the range as he gears up for the opening event of the 2026 LIV Golf season.

The LIV Golf League shared practice clips of Kim on its official Instagram page on January 31, showing him working on his swing at Riyadh Golf Club ahead of the season-opening event in Riyadh scheduled from February 5 to 8.

Kim recently earned his place back in the league for 2026 after finishing third at LIV Golf Promotions. The result helped him secure one of the wildcard spots following relegation at the end of last season.

Once seen as one of golf’s biggest young stars, Kim won three PGA Tour events before turning 25 and reached a career-high world ranking of No. 6 in 2008. He was also part of the U.S. team that won the Ryder Cup that same year.

After stepping away from professional golf for more than a decade Kim returned in 2024 through LIV Golf. His 2025 season ended outside the top group but his late improvement including a strong showing in promotions helped him fight his way back.

With the new season just days away, Kim appears focused on making a stronger start in 2026.

Anthony Kim earns his way back into LIV Golf after tough 2025 season

Anthony Kim’s return to the LIV Golf League did not come easy.He struggled through his comeback year and failed to earn a single point across 13 starts in 2025, which led to his relegation from the league and forced him into the LIV Golf Promotions qualifier to fight for his place.

Statistically, it was a difficult season for Kim. He finished with a 73.10 scoring average, ranking 54th in the field. His driving distance sat at 293 yards (51st), while accuracy off the tee was just 48.4 percent (53rd).

He also ranked near the bottom in greens in regulation at 58 percent (55th) and averaged 8.92 birdies per tournament, placing him 49th overall. One of the few positives came around the greens, where he ranked 26th in strokes gained.

At Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, Kim managed to turn things around when it mattered most, finishing third in a 78 player field to secure the final wildcard spot for the 2026 season.

After earning his return, Anthony Kim made it clear the moment meant a lot to him.

“I’m not here to prove everyone wrong; I’m here to prove myself right,” he said. “This is just the first step but I’m glad I earned my spot so everybody could quit talking s***.”

Kim also admitted there were moments of doubt during the process but stayed focused on his goal.

“I wasn’t planning on doing anything but getting back on LIV. I felt like I’d put in the time. I haven’t seen the results yet but I felt like God has a bigger plan,” he said.

Now back for the 2026 season, Anthony Kim will look to build on his late momentum and push for stronger results.
