Popular TV host Piers Morgan feels Phil Mickelson’s PGA Championship win at the age of 50 is one of the greatest feats in sports. His comments came after England’s former cricket captain Kevin Pietersen named a few achievements of veteran sportspersons ahead of Novak Djokovic’s Australian Open quest.
On Friday, January 30, Novak Djokovic made a great recovery in the Australian Open semifinal to post a 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Jannik Sinner. Now he is just one round away from becoming the oldest winner of the major.
Following Djokovic’s win, Kevin Pietersen shared his take on X.
“With what Novak is going to try and do tomorrow, has there ever been in any sport this type of feat? Tiger 2019 maybe? He’s 38! Sinner & Carlos are machines! Thoughts?” he wrote.
Piers Morgan added Phil Mickelson’s name into the mix.
“I would suggest Phil Mickelson winning the PGA Champ at 50….,” he wrote.
For the uninitiated, Mickelson claimed his sixth major championship after posting a two-shot win over Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka at Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
