Amanda Balionis wrapped up her first PGA Tour assignment of the 2026 season on a high note, praising Justin Rose after his win at the Farmers Insurance Open and sharing a behind-the-scenes look at her busy schedule.
The CBS reporter covered the tournament at Torrey Pines, which wrapped up on February 1 with Rose lifting the trophy. A day later Balionis posted an Instagram reel looking back on the week, which included both work on the course and a charity event close to her heart.
She wrote alongside the video:
“What. A. Week. There’s nothing better than a home game that starts with our most successful @puppiesandgolf fundraiser yet and ends at gorgeous Torrey Pines with a great champion. Onto Phoenix!”
Before the tournament began, Balionis helped host a Puppies and Golf Block Party in San Diego. The event was part of her non-profit, Puppies and Golf which connects military veterans with rescue dogs. It featured adoptable pets, golf activities and community events throughout the venue with Balionis even taking part in some putting challenges.
Once the fundraiser wrapped up, the focus shifted to Torrey Pines where Rose went on to win the Farmers Insurance Open with an impressive 23 under par finish.
The week also marked Balionis’ first PGA Tour broadcast of the 2026 season. Earlier this year she had finished her NFL sideline reporting duties before returning to golf coverage.
Amanda Balionis has been part of golf media for more than a decade. She started with the PGA Tour in 2011, later worked with Callaway Golf creating digital content and joined CBS in 2017. A year later, she became a full-time reporter while also adding college football and NFL assignments to her schedule.
With the Farmers Insurance Open done, she now heads to the Phoenix Open for her next stop on the broadcast schedule.
Amanda Balionis shares behind-the-scenes moments with Rose, Koepka and Dahmen
Amanda Balionis gave fans a closer look at some of her on-course interviews from the Farmers Insurance Open after wrapping up CBS’ coverage at Torrey Pines.
Throughout the week, the CBS reporter spoke with several players, including tournament winner Justin Rose and Brooks Koepka, who made his PGA Tour return at the event.
Following the tournament, Balionis posted a carousel on Instagram highlighting those moments and reflected on what stood out most.
She wrote:
“At 45-years-old @justinprose99 set a new scoring record at the @farmersinsopen while also becoming the oldest player to win at Torrey Pines. He is so clearly on a mission to prove that his best is yet to come and the results this week may just be the beginning 👀 we also had the pleasure to welcome @bkoepka back to the PGA TOUR. He embraced all of the questions and requests with grace and the fans embraced him in a special way.”
Koepka went on to make the cut in his first PGA Tour start in nearly four years, finishing tied 56th at four under par.
Balionis also spent time speaking with Joel Dahmen earlier in the week. Dahmen impressed at Torrey Pines with a tied seventh finish at 14 under and was seen chatting with Balionis during CBS’ Friday coverage.
