The Farmers Insurance Open 2026 witnessed many underdogs shining at Torrey Pines. While many oddsmakers’ favorites failed to make an impression this week, several notables proved the odds wrong.

5 Golfers Who over-performed at the Farmers Insurance Open 2026
1) Justin Rose

Justin Rose was +5000 for Torrey Pines and wasn’t even in the top 25 of the favorites. Besides, he was competing just a few days after missing the cut at The American Express.
However, the veteran Englishman started the week with a bang and fired a low 62, which was followed by a 65 to go a record low after 36 holes. He continued his good run on Day 3 as well and shot a 68 before carding the winning 70 on Sunday.
2) Pierceson Coody

Pierceson Coody was +4500 for the week, but he shot 68, 70 and 69 in the first three rounds to go 9-under. In the final round, he shot a 65 to finish T2 at 16-under.
Coody has been on a great run so far and has finished inside the top 20 in all three starts.
3) Jake Knapp

Jake Knapp was +4000 at the Farmers Insurance Open 2026 but carded 66, 70, 70 and 67 to tie for fifth at 15-under. So far, he has played two events and has finished inside the top 11 in both.
4) Andrew Novak

Andrew Novak was playing his second event of the season after missing the cut at The American Express. The 30-year-old star shot rounds of 69, 69, 70, and 66 to tie for 7th at 14-under.
5) Joel Dahmen

Joel Dahmen was playing his second event of the season and wasn’t even in the conversation as a tournament favorite. He began with a modest 70 but fired a low 63 in the second round to make a huge jump on the leaderboard.
