The 90th Masters Tournament will commence on Thursday, April 9 at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club. The prestegious contest, first major championship of 2026, will see a stacked 91-player field teeing up for the Green Jacket and $25 million prize purse on offer.

The latest edition of the Masters features majority of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) top 50 players. For the unversed, Rory McIlroy ended his decade-long major drought at the contest last year. The Northern Irishman is set to host the Champions Dinner this week ahead of his title defence attempt. However, the ace golfer is not among the top picks for this event.

McIlroy sits seventh on the PGA Tour’s power rankings list for Masters 2026 while 2024 Green Jacket winner Scottie Scheffler takes 12th place. While his continued battle with back spasms have put the defending champion back, Scheffler’s time away from the playing field due to the birth of his second child is expected to affect his game.

Interestingly, Matt Fitzpatrick tops the list by the American circuit. The Englishman, whose only major win came at the US Open in 2022, beat the likes of Xander Schauffele, Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm to take the top spot. The three-time PGA Tour winner enters his 12th Masters on the back of a win at the Valspar Championship. His close call at The Players Championship the week prior also makes him a safe bet for Augusta.

Meanwhile, Ludvig Aberg trails the top pick at just 26 years of age. The Swede enters the major on the back of T3-T5-T5 finishes at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players and Valero Texas Open outings. It is pertinent to note that the golfer had placing second in his Masters debut in 2024, making him a popular pick for Augusta ever since.

Schauffele, Cameron Young and Fleetwood complete the top five while Robert MacIntyre, Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau populate the top 10. Justin Rose, who succumbed in a playoff at the Masters last year, is another big pick in the top 15.

Listed below is the top-15 power rankings picks for the Augusta Masters:

    Masters 2026 odds

Unlike the PGA Tour power rankings, Scottie Scheffler is the outright favorite to win the Masters 2026. The two-time winner at Augusta (2022,2024) enters the prestigious event with 22/5 odds, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. He is trailed by LIV Golfer Jon Rahm. The Spaniard, who won the Green Jacket in 2023, enters with 9-1 odds. Rory McIlroy completes the top three with 11-1 odds despite being injury prone.

Notably, second LIV Golfer Bryson DeChambeau shares the third position on the odds list with McIlroy.
