As former legendary NFL cornerback and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders heads into the new college football season as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, the NFL, on the other hand, will see his son Shedeur Sanders reprise his role as the QB for the Cleveland Browns. However, despite showing immense promise throughout his CFB career, the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t seem too bright for Coach Prime’s eldest son’s NFL career.
In a recent video that’s doing rounds on the internet, former Colorado State Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders was seen hanging out with a few of his friends. During the course of the video, Shilo shed light on what’s next for his on-field career, signaling the end to any future NFL talk.
“It takes a special kind of guy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and i don’t think there’s any light in my tunnel”, Shilo stated.
“Just cause you got love for the game, don’t mean the game love you back, remember that man”, he further elaborated.
While Shilo masked both the aforementioned statements under his laugh, chatting and giggling with his friends, the emotional undertone of the words cannot be underestimated. On the NFL front, he was last seen in Tampa Bay colors back in August 2025 during the side’s preseason games before subsequently being cut from the franchise’s final roster.
Why Was Shilo Sanders Ejected From The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Squad?
Despite putting in consistent performances throughout his collegiate career for programs like South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado, safety Shilo Sanders did not find any takers in the 2025 NFL draft.
His draft snub did not deter him from making it to Tampa Bay’s preseason squad, where he featured for them in their preseason games before the start of the 2025 campaign.
However, an infamous incident involving Shilo punching Buffalo Bills safety Zach Davidson during one of their preseason games led to the safety’s immediate ejection from the game.
The consequences of that altercation did not bode well for Shilo as he was eventually omitted from the Buccaneers’ final 53-man roster for the season.
