Travis Hunter has risen to new heights ever since he became one of the top players picked in the 2025 NFL draft, but his past at Colorado Buffaloes will not be forgotten for a long time to come. After all, he did win the Heisman Trophy as well as push his team to recognition not witnessed before, and it seems he has the support of Deion Sanders Jr too.
The son of the legendary Deion Sanders took to social media to reply to a fan’s comment about how Travis Hunter might have looked in the colors of the University of Georgia instead of the Colorado Buffaloes, and it piqued the interest of the man known as “Bucky.”
“Yup… unfortunately he stayed with us and won a Heisman,” Deion Sanders Jr wrote on X in response to the UGA comment.
Travis Hunter was expected to light up the NFL in his rookie year, but sadly, a season-ending injury cut short what promised to be a solid campaign at the Jacksonville Jaguars. A surgery to his right knee may only have delayed the inevitable, though, as Travis Hunter continues his rehab to get back to full fitness and become a real force for the Jaguars in the coming NFL season.
What Is Travis Hunter’s Injury Return Timeline?
Travis Hunter is expected to participate fully on the field by late July, when training camp begins for the Jacksonville Jaguars, giving him enough time to prepare for the new season, barring any other major issues.
Jaguars head coach Liam Coen had recently issued a statement on the versatile player’s injury status:
“I’ve got to give a lot of credit to our strength staff, athletic training, sports science,” Coen said, per AOL.com.
“They’ve just kept him–not motivated because he motivates himself–but they’ve kept it creative for him. The drills, the way that they’re pushing him and challenging him and then he goes into the video room with each side of the ball and he’s able to get a ton of reps in there.”
