Deion Sanders seemed to be missing his daughter, Shelomi Sanders, a little extra on Monday.
He shared an old video of the two of them on Instagram and wrote a sweet message for her.
“I miss my babygirl, Daboo Daboo Daboo,” he wrote in the caption.
In the video, Deion tells Shelomi, “I love you,” and kisses her on the forehead. The two then joke around and tease each other during a playful conversation.
Shelomi replied in the comments with laughing emojis.
“😂😂😂😂,” she wrote.
Shelomi is a redshirt junior guard at Alabama A&M University. Previously, she spent one year at the University of Colorado Boulder during the 2023-2024 season. However, she had limited playing time and appeared in only five games.
Before following her father to the University of Colorado, Shelomi started her college basketball career in 2022 at Jackson State University.
On Feb. 23, to mark Black History Month, Shelomi Sanders hailed Deion Sanders and revealed one life mantra that he suggested to her.
“Black history is American history. And one thing about my dad, a prime time Deion Sanders, is that he represents confidence, determination, and impact. In other words, he is history,” she said.
Shelomi also shared one of Deion’s well-known quotes that has stayed with her over the years.
“Baby, if you look good, you feel good. And if you feel good, you play good. And if you play good, baby, you get paid good,” she added.
She explained that the quote reminds her to approach life with self-belief.
Deion Sanders’ Daughter Shelomi Admits Choosing Flag Football if the Sport Had Expanded Sooner in College
When Shelomi Sanders was studying at Rockwall-Heath High School in Texas, there was no clear pathway for women to play football at the NCAA level, as her father, Deion Sanders, and brothers Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders had.
On July 16, speaking to SB Nation, Shelomi said she likely would have chosen the family’s route if the opportunity had existed earlier.
“I feel like if they had that back when I was playing, it would be over with. I’d be showing my talent as a football player,” she shared. “I would definitely be playing, for sure.”
As of March 2026, the momentum behind women’s flag football has shifted. With the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on the horizon, the infrastructure for female athletes is expanding at every level.
Moreover, flag football was officially added to the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program in January.
