Jordyn Tyson is, without a doubt, one of the most talented wide receivers, if not the most talented, available for the 2026 NFL Draft. Despite this, some teams are put off about the idea of selecting him, due to an injury history that didn’t allow him to play to his full potential in college, particularly in his final season with the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Many mock drafts still have Jordyn Tyson as a first-round pick, with, for example, ESPN’s Jordan Reid having him as the No. 16 pick by the New York Jets, following a trade with the Indianapolis Colts to get the pick.
Regardless of some people’s caution about the player’s injury history, there are still plenty of people who back him up. One of them is Colorado’s Deion Sanders, who had this to say about him on a tweet on Monday:

Jordyn Tyson played at Colorado in his freshman season in 2022, one year before Coach Prime took over the Buffaloes football program. That year, he had 22 receptions for 470 receiving yards, with four touchdown catches. It’s a significant production for a freshman.
It was when he transferred to Arizona State that he had his proper breakthrough. In his sophomore year, he recorded 1101 receiving yards, in 75 catches with 10 touchdown receptions. He did have a collarbone injury towards the end of the season, and his participation in the 2025 season was cut short by three games because of a lingering hamstring injury, also at the end of it. Regardless, he has 711 receiving yards in 2025, with eight touchdowns in 61 receptions. For both seasons, he had First Team All-Big 12 honors.
Jordyn Tyson to the Dallas Cowboys?
After a season in which they had one of the poorest defenses in the league, while also having one of the top offenses, the Dallas Cowboys of Jerry Jones are expected to draft a defensive player in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft. Particularly, they need a linebacker to fill the gap left by Micah Parsons’ departure ahead of the 2025 season.
It was thus surprising to see the Cowboys at Jordyn Tyson’s personal workout last week. However, there’s an argument to be made for Dallas to look for a first-round wide receiver this April. Their primary target, CeeDee Lamb, is probably towards the end of his prime, and behind him, the Cowboys don’t have another reliable wide receiver.
Dallas also has two first-round picks, the No. 12 and 20 picks, and they could get the chance to take some risks. If Jordyn Tyson’s health status puts off teams, he could drop to No. 20, where, if they already picked a linebacker at No. 12, he would be a no-brainer for Jerry Jones’s team.
After all, the Cowboys love a marketable move, and there would be few other more marketable moves in the draft. That being said, they could also trade their picks to a top 10 team to get a chance at a prime defensive talent. But that doesn’t sound like a Dallas move.
