Caitlin Clark is the reason why Carson Beck’s Miami Hurricanes are playing for a national championship. And Beck’s ex-girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, has played a major role in this journey as well.
It sounds absurd. That’s because it is absurd, but that’s how the brain of a conspiracy theorist works. With Carson Beck’s Miami set to play Indiana for the national title, some fans came up with this bizarre theory.
It all started with Caitlin Clark. The former Iowa star lost the national title to LSU. When the rematch happened, Clark got her revenge and took her team to another Final Four appearance. She dropped 41 points on Hailey Van Lith and handed LSU an embarrassing loss.
This led to Van Lith transferring to TCU. That’s where Beck’s ex, Hanna, comes into the picture. Since Van Lith was joining TCU, Cavinder had to move, and she chose Miami as her next destination. So, Clark beating LSU led to Cavinder moving to Miami.
The conspiracy theory suggests this is where Beck’s future in college football changed. With his girlfriend at the time moving to Miami, the quarterback decided to shock the football world and transferred from Georgia to Miami.
Beck was looking for options at the time, and Cavinder’s decision helped him finalize Miami as his next stop. On January 10, Beck announced his decision to transfer to Miami. Less than a year later, Beck won The Fiesta Bowl against the Ole Miss Rebels and helped the Hurricanes qualify for the national title.
Today, they’re taking on the Indiana Hoosiers for the title. If you’re a believer in the butterfly effect, then this sequence of events spread across a few years would make perfect sense to you. If you don’t believe in it, it’s still an interesting theory to read about.
Kirk Herbstreit on What Makes Carson Beck so Special
There’s no denying that Beck has been the anchor of Miami’s success this season. He has led the team’s offense and has produced some flawless performances throughout the season while being a capable leader.
As per Kirk Herbstreit, there’s so much more to Beck than what people give him credit for.
“If you look at Beck’s career, to me, it’s almost like he, at times, has been two different people. There are times he gets into trouble, where he has to reset his feet, kind of read things on the move, he’s willing to put the ball into coverage,” he said.
“Not hesitating, not waiting, sees it, ball is out. Physically, he’s as gifted as any quarterback playing college football,” he added. “This guy, it’s one or the other. If he’s on point tonight, Miami has a great shot.”
Miami is going into the game as an underdog, and if they want to beat Indiana, Beck will have to be at his absolute best.
