What Charges Does BYU’s Parker Kingston Face And Will He Go To Jail?

BYU Cougars wide receiver Parker Kingston may have played his final NFL season. On Wednesday, Feb. 11, several reports, including that of football reporter Dov Kleiman, revealed that Kingston has been arrested and charged with a first-degree felony rape, as he is now in the possession of authorities without any chance for bail.

This comes after a reported year-long investigation that involves a 20-year-old woman who reported a sexual assault act on her by Kingston last February. The alleged victim is said to have reported this to officers at St. George Regional Hospital, through which they now have the proper information and evidence to arrest Kingston. Currently, the Layton, Utah, native is being held in Washington County.

Kingston is also said to be appearing in Utah’s Fifth Judicial District Court, on Friday, Feb. 13. Kingston got engaged to his girlfriend, Lily Lee, on Saturday, Feb. 7. Nevertheless, the BYU program has also chimed in on the case and has publicly stated that the university will cooperate with officials on the matter.

If proven guilty, Kingston could face serious jail time of several years. It also goes without saying that his football career will come to a screeching halt as his scholarship and any chance in the NFL will be taken away from him. Just recently, Kingston played out his junior year for coach Kalani Sitake‘s Cougars in the 2025 college football campaign.

Parker Kingston’s Rape Case Follows That Of Jake Retzlaff Back In May 2025

Back in May of last year, another BYU Cougar was charged with a rape case.
Now-Tulane Green Wave quarterback Jake Retzlaff was accused of it in a civil lawsuit. But, just a month later, the case was dismissed, as both parties agreed to a settlement, and even had a prejudice stipulation.

Retzlaff has since transferred to the Green Wave without any criminal charges.
