Cam Skattebo has officially arrived in New York as a Giant, and the former Arizona State running back will be wearing jersey No. 44 as he begins his NFL career. Skattebo was selected in the fourth round with the 105th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Skattebo rushed for 1,711 yards, 605 of which were receptions, and had 21 touchdowns in his last season as a Sun Devil. He brought some aggression to ASU’s backfield and pushed their offense through their successful 2024 season campaign in the Big 12.

Cam Skattebo Embraces ‘Zero’ Mentality to Defy NFL Expectation
For Skattebo, the NFL is a new slate and beginning. He is not getting ahead of himself and knows he has to work hard for his spot, just like he’s had to earn everything else in his career, as he wasn’t highly rated in high school.
“How many NFL snaps have you seen played? Zero! I’ve proved nothing,” he said. “I’ve proved what I am in college, but I’ve proved nothing at this level so now where I’m at, I have to prove myself, whether it’s five years or ten year, I’ll continue to prove myself.”

Skattebo is going to be joining Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the backfield. Tracy has 1,123 scrimmage yards over 17 games (12 starts) during the last season, his rookie campaign.
“I’m excited to play with him, next to him, be in the same room as him, even me learning from him,” Skattebo said. “He’s done it for a year, and I’m excited to pick things from his game also.”
Skattebo broke the Arizona State record for total rushing yards in a season. He became the first ASU player to cross 2,000 yards from scrimmage in a single season, and finished 5th in Heisman voting. His rushing yards were the second-most in the FBS, behind Heisman runner-up Ashton Jeanty.
Skattebo was considered one of the best running backs in this year’s draft class, with loads of players in that department. So it was surprising that he fell to the fourth round, but Skattebo isn’t beating himself up about it.

“This is an awesome place to be,” he said. “Did I expect it to be here? No, but this is where I want to be now, and I love that I’m here… I’ve worked 18 years to get to this moment, and I’m on an NFL team now, and I still have more to prove, so I’m excited to get to work and prove what I am.”
