Georgia Tech’s football program has always been one of its flagship sports over the years, but that doesn’t mean support is lacking by any means across other sports, and that was on full display as the Oklahoma Sooners came to town for an NCAA baseball clash.
As a part of the Atlanta Regional in the NCAA Baseball Championship, Oklahoma took on Georgia Tech, and one man seemed visibly unhappy at what was transpiring as the Sooners took the W away from home.
Georgia Tech’s football head coach Brent Key was in attendance supporting the Yellow Jackets in their crucial clash, and he was spotted on camera being unhappy with one of the calls during the game.
The commentary team had a good laugh as Key was caught by cameramen looking visibly animated at a pitching change during the Atlanta Regional clash, with a brief glimpse of his family suggesting he brought the whole troupe over for the game.
Fans Let Their Feelings Be Known as Brent Key Shows He’s One of Them
Most fans were enamored by the moment of passion from Key, showing he shared a similar love for the baseball team as he did perhaps his own football players.
“Just a dude like us,” one fan said.
“Football guy!”, another commented.
“This is so funny,” another user said.
“I love this guy,” another said.
“What a clown,” a skeptical fan commented.
Brent Key’s frustrations were probably legitimate as his Georgia Tech team succumbed to a defeat in the clash with the Oklahoma Sooners ultimately winning 15-8 and have forced a deciding Monday game as a result.
Focus for Brent Key will soon shift to his real job, however, with the Georgia Tech football team preparing for their new season under the charismatic head coach. Tech made some real progress last season and will be looking forward to more success this time around.
