“Sounds Like The Real Housewives Of Boston” – Fans In Shock After Red Sox Mates Marcelo Mayer & Willson Contreras Beef Over Youth ‘Excuse’

The Boston Red Sox are struggling this season, dropping another series and ranking last in the AL East with a 13-21 record. Despite several coaching staff changes that have influenced the clubhouse environment and drawn varied opinions from players, a new problem has emerged involving a young star and a veteran in the league.

First baseman Willson Contreras said having too many young players on the roster is a major obstacle to the team’s continued struggles and its difficulty bouncing back from setbacks. However, second baseman and promising player Marcelo Mayer disagreed, saying this was simply an excuse to shift the blame onto the young players for the current troubles.

Fans noticed the beef between Mayer and Contreras and shared their reactions on social media.

“Sounds like the Real Housewives of Boston over there,” one fan commented.

“What Contreras is saying doesn’t make sense. The Nats have the youngest team in MLB and a better record than the Red Sox. You can’t just blame the young guys,” another fan commented.

“Rare case where Contreras isn’t actually wrong,” yet another fan commented.

Some other fans took the opportunity to call out the Boston management for poorly handling the ongoing struggles, with many suggesting cleaning house to start afresh and maybe make some credible moves during the transfer period.

“Red Sox just need to clean house and rebuild from scratch, such a messy organization,” one fan commented.

“Who do you think is actually in the wrong here, or is this just frustration boiling over because nobody wants to take the blame for a 13-21 start?” another fan commented.

“Boston has a culture issue up there; they need to clean house just like the Mets,” yet another fan commented.

The Red Sox Will Now Head to Detroit For a Three-Game Series

Day after day, Boston appears to be shifting its expectations in the campaign. Going into each series with hopes of victory, the team has struggled to maintain consistent momentum this season, which has significantly impacted their overall record and drawn criticism from fans.

The Red Sox had an opportunity to win the series against the Astros on Sunday, but lost the final game 3-1 due to an underperforming offense and weak pitching.

Now, the team will travel to Detroit for a three-game series against the Tigers at Comerica Park, aiming to secure a series win and build positive momentum before returning to Boston for a seven-game homestand.
