“Way To Represent Jesus, TCU” – Fans React In Shock To Manager’s Ejection Shenanigans Vs Oklahoma State

TCU Horned Frogs manager Kirk Saarloos was ejected from Saturday night’s high-profile game against the OSU Cowboys at O’Brate Stadium following an on-field altercation with umpires. The incident occurred in the bottom of the seventh inning with the game tied at 2-2, and the Cowboys with runners at the corners and one out.

Initially, the umpire called the player out at third base, but a video review overturned the call, ruling the tag null and the runner safe. This triggered Saarloos, who stormed out of the visiting dugout and confronted the home umpire face-to-face.

After heated exchanges, Saarloos was ejected after continuing to protest and argue with the umpire crew on the field. His fellow coach eventually separated him from the umpires and led him to the dugout. In an unexpected move, Saarloos then grabbed his leather briefcase, crossed the field slowly for over a minute, and left to loud jeers from the home crowd.

Baseball fans expressed mixed reactions to the ejection call and to everything that transpired on the field afterward.

“Way to represent Jesus, Texas Christian University,” one fan commented.

“@KirkSaarloosTCU had every right to be mad. How in the earth did they decide to overturn it? This ref crew is gosh awful,” another fan commented.

“Court’s adjourned, umps!” and moonwalked the diamond for a solid minute. Slowest walk of shame since molasses won a race!” yet another fan commented.

Some other fans found humor in the situation and shared reactions along similar lines.

“Didn’t even have to throw a chair,” one fan commented.

“Briefcase energy > umpire energy,” another fan commented.

“This s— is legend worthy,” yet another fan commented.

The Cowboys went on to win the game 9-2 and sealed the series with the finale yet to be played on Sunday. With the series win, OSU is now 30-17 for the season in the Big-12 while TCU has dropped to 29-17.

TCU Associate Head Coach Voiced Optimism for Sunday’s Series Finale Against OSU

After Saarloos’ ejection from the game, the Horned Frogs imploded, giving up seven runs and losing the match 9-2. With the series now out of their hands, the Horned Frogs will aim to come away with a much-needed consolation win on Sunday, which will be important for the Big 12 standings and TCU’s RPI.

Horned Frogs associate head coach Bill Mosiello revealed exactly how the team should approach Sunday’s finale to come out with a win and avoid getting swept by the Cowboys.

“We’ve got to obviously swing the bats a lot better. Offensively, we’ve got to score earlier and try to put some pressure on them. They’re doing a really good job of throwing the baseball against us, and they’ve got some big power obviously coming in, so we’ve got our work cut out for us tomorrow,” Mosiello said.

The Horned Frogs and Cowboys will play the series finale on Sunday at O’Brate Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST in Stillwater, OK.
