“If Dalton Rushing Did This, He’d Be In Prison” – Fans React After Pete Crow-Armstrong Launches NSFW Argument With Female White Sox Fan

During the series finale at Guaranteed Rate Field on Sunday, Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong became an unlikely villain when he engaged in a wild altercation with a White Sox fan while fielding in the outfield. It occurred at the bottom of the fifth inning after Miguel Vargas hit a line drive to center field; Armstrong failed to catch the ball as he leaped, but instead hit the fence and fell.

The ball ricocheted from the fence, allowing two runs to tie the game at 4-4. Armstrong sat in the outfield as a female spectator directed shots at him, prompting him to respond with offensive comments. The home team rallied in the eighth, and the Cubs tied the game in the ninth. The White Sox outscored their rivals 2-1 in the tenth to win the game and secure the series.

Fans swiftly expressed mixed reactions to the viral incident between Armstrong and the female fan, with one stating that if Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing had been involved instead of the Cubs outfielder, he would have received harsher and more severe consequences for the same situation.

“People talking shit to multi-millionaire professional athletes never ceases to amaze me,” one fan commented.

Hey @MLB @Cubs, come get your boy. “You suck my f****n d**k b***h”,another fan commented.

“If Dalton Rushing did this he’d be in a Nicaraguan prison by Tuesday,” yet another fan commented.

Some fans responded to the viral moment by noting the criticism players face from spectators during the game. They mentioned that performing on the field is difficult, whereas talking trash might be easier when just watching intense ballplayers in the big leagues.

“She’s clearly never been a part of a team, competed in any kind of competition, or been exposed to life outside of Naperville she’s not worth your breath bro,” one fan commented.

“Easy to criticize when your no athletic bone in your body sorry self can’t play probably couldn’t catch a routine fly ball typical ignorant fan behavior,” another fan commented.

“People can’t imagine the amount of s*** talking the athletes have take from fans. People who have no idea what it takes to do what these guys do,” yet another fan commented.

Pete Crow-Armstrong Explained His Heated Exchange With the White Sox Fan

After the game, Armstrong addressed a media question, during which he was asked to explain the heated interaction he had with White Sox fans. “Some lady decided to start talking (expletive) and I felt the need to say it back,” the Cubs OF replied.

Another explicit interaction occurred when Armstrong was practicing his swing, and some fans behind home plate made obscene remarks about the Cubs outfielder’s mother, who was also watching the game from the stands.

An upset Armstrong turned to confront the hecklers, creating a tense atmosphere for the speedy slugger for a moment. The Cubs ultimately lost the series and will now return to Wrigley Field for a six-game homestand against the Brewers and the Astros. They hold a 29-18 record this season and are currently the leaders in the NL Central division.
