Olivia Dunne was recently in Toronto to support Paul Skenes in his start against the Blue Jays on Saturday night. The Pittsburgh Pirates ended up losing the encounter, 5-2, to Toronto, but not before Skenes threw a five-inning start.
Skenes allowed four runs, nine hits, two walks, and only striking out two batters. Not one of his best starts.
Dunne marked the night by posting a series of pictures on her Instagram feed this Sunday. She could be seen walking into Rogers Centre alongside Skenes and was seen in the stands with a friend. Here’s what she wrote on the post’s caption:
“Occasionally profane,” wrote Dunne

The post gathered some reactions from other famous WAGs in American sports, including the girlfriend of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Marissa Ayers, who wrote on the comments section:
“Beautiful 😍,”
The season hasn’t been that kind to the Pirates ace, who last season won the National League Cy Young Award, with him having a record of 6-4 and an ERA of 3.0 at the moment. While the numbers would be good for almost any MLB pitcher, they’re a far cry from his stats for the 2025 season.
Last year, Skenes recorded a 10-10 record while putting up an impressive 1.97 ERA.
Toronto’s John Schneider on how to beat Paul Skenes
Toronto Blue Jays coach John Schneider was asked before the game on Saturday about how he planned to take on Paul Skenes. Asked if he had figured out how to break him, he said no but he also revealed that he had a plan to battle him:
“Great stuff, in the zone, a lot of arm-side movement in on righties. You have to get him out over the plate as much as you can and pick an area of the plate,” Schneider said. “Try to grind him down as much as you can. You’ve got to take advantage when you get guys on, whether that’s trying to run, hit and run, make something happen, whatever it is.”
It seems that whatever he told his batting lineup worked, as the Blue Jays were able to definitely break Paul Skenes towards the tail end of his start.
However, winning one game is nothing in baseball. On Sunday, the Blue Jays lost the final game of the series 4-1. The good news for Toronto, is that they came away with the series, as they had also won Friday’s encounter 6-2.
