With West Virginia set to take on Troy and Texas facing Georgia, many fans expressed their frustration online, calling the draw unfair and questioning how the teams were seeded as the road to Omaha officially begins.
The 2026 NCAA Baseball Super Regionals concluded on June 8, 2026, officially setting the eight-team field for the Men’s College World Series in Omaha. The final matches of the Super Regionals was held between Oklahoma and Kansas, where the former claimed an 8-1 lead in the third inning on Sunday, June 7, but the game halted due to weather conditions.
However, they maintained the same dominance on Monday, June 8, nabbing five more runs to secure the final ticket to the College World Series. Another game that was suspended on Sunday night was between Alabama and St. John’s. After registering a 7-2 lead on Sunday, the Crimson Tide secured the final six outs on Monday, advancing to the World Series.
After terrific performances from baseball teams at the NCAA Super Regionals, eight teams have now advanced to the College World Series, including Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Ole Miss, West Virginia, and Troy. The matchups for the tournament, which is slated for June 12, are now out, and the bracket has sparked intense fan debate online.
According to the bracket, West Virginia will be contending against Troy, Ole Miss against North Carolina, Oklahoma against Alabama, and Texas against Georgia at the opening weekend of the event.
Highlighting the massive imbalance between the two sides, fans expressed dismay over the brackets. With West Virginia and Troy, who have not reached this far before will be playing each other and one team will get an easy pass to the championship and on the other hand, with Texas competing against Georgia, both teams are strong ones and one will be get knocked out early in the tournament.
