Phillies & Trea Turner Face Brutal Trolling After Jacob Misiorowski’s Epic 15K Outing As All-Star Selection Comments Come Back To Bite

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was picked for the 2025 All-Star game as an injury replacement for Cubs pitcher Matthew Boyd. His selection annoyed several Philadelphia Phillies stars, especially Trea Turner, who called MLB’s selection a “joke” since the Brewers ace had only started five games, in which he went 4-1 with 33 strikeouts in 25.2 innings.

Almost one year later, Misiorowski had the opportunity to make a statement against the Phillies for their criticism over his selection. On Friday, the right-hander threw a complete game, allowing only one hit, while striking out 15 Phillies hitters. He needed only 95 pitches for this dominant showing, breaking Tarik Skubal’s record of 13Ks in a complete game wrapped up in less than 100 pitches.

One fan recalled the news from last year, taunting Philadelphia for their absurd remarks on Misiorowski.

“Damn sure, you showed him,” the fan wrote.

“are you feeling it now philadelphia,” another added.

“lol 😂 now look at him! @MLB great call on him,” one fan wrote.

“Complete game shutout and 15 Ks ON YOUR HEAD!!!!” another commented.

“He punked these lil losers,” one fan joked.

“Who’s laughing now?” one fan noted.

Jacob Misiorowski Broke Multiple MLB Records in One Night

The 15Ks showing by Jacob Misiorowski were the most by any in MLB this season. He also became the first pitcher in the modern era to punch out 15 and give up one or no earned runs while facing 27 batters.

His fastball clocked at 104.5 mph, breaking the record for fastest pitch in MLB, since tracking began in 2008. He accomplished “Maddux,” a pitching feat where you throw a complete game under 100 pitches.

Even on his 95th (last) pitch of the complete game, he was able to pump it up to 103 mph to strike out Justin Crawford. Misiorowski was going no other way.

“There was no chance,” says Misiorowski, “I was going to throw something other than a heater there.”

Brewers manager Pat Murphy appreciated the ace after he went deeper than the seventh inning for the first time after 28 starts.

“That was as good as it gets,” Murphy said. “With all those All-Stars and great players they have over there, incredible, incredible performance. Efficient. Amazing young man. Really is. He just goes out and lets it eat.”

For the Brewers, it was the first complete game since Brandon Woodruff in Sept. 2023. Moreover, it was their first “Maddux” since CC Sabathia did in 2008.
