Yankees Ace Cam Schlittler Gets Cy Young Shoutout From Knicks Champ Josh Hart After Dominant 13K Outing Vs Reds

New York Yankees in-form starter Cam Schlittler has been having an admirable campaign that has started to generate buzz for a maiden Cy Young Award. Joining the discussion and throwing his weight behind the Bombers ace, Knicks SG, and 2026 NBA Champion, Josh Hart, named Schlittler the leading candidate to win the coveted honor this season.

Hart shared his opinion in a social media post on X after recently winning the highly prestigious Larry O’Brien Trophy with the Knicks, ending New York’s 53-year NBA championship drought. Meanwhile, inside the diamond, Schlittler is maintaining an 8-3 overall record and has been one of the most impactful starters for the ballclub in 2026.

“Schlitty is the Cy Young winner hands down,” Hart wrote on X.

The words of praise from Hart came against the backdrop of Schlittler’s emphatic start in the series opener against the Reds at Yankee Stadium on Friday night. The RHP struck out a staggering 13 batters, allowing no runs on four hits over six innings. The Yankees bullpen followed up on Schlittler’s strong start, ultimately sealing a 5-0 shutout victory over the Reds.

Cam Schlittler Appreciated Josh Hart for Cy Young Backing

After the game, Schlittler addressed some media personnel for a post-game interview, where, besides reflecting on his strong start that night, he voiced gratitude toward NBA Champion Hart for backing him for the coveted Cy Young Award this season.

“It’s a good thing to hear, Josh is a great guy… pumped for him and the city of New York, being able to finish that off and it’s great to have his support,” Schlittler said.

Schlittler has a 1.71 ERA, 109 strikeouts, and a 0.89 WHIP through 15 starts this year. The 25-year-old will be eyeing the ninth win of his campaign when he takes the mound next in the series finale against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Wednesday.
