Lane Kiffin’s decision to take the job at LSU as their next head coach was a controversial one as he left Ole Miss in the middle of their playoff season.

Kiffin’s reasoning behind the big move was mainly that he thought he’d have a better chance at winning a national championship than he had at Ole Miss.

The LSU head coach is now working day and night to make that dream come true, especially when it comes to recruiting.

Kiffin has already gotten commitments from some big names like Jordan Seaton, and with Coach O now working at LSU again to help the recruiting for the Tigers, which analyst Auston believes to be a big differentiating factor compared to when Brian Kelly was with the program.

“You’re getting the players that you want to visit, not just the players who want to use LSU for a visit, right? So you kind of saw that with some of the folks that were committed to Brian Kelly, that we couldn’t lock down in the Bryce. You had that with the Corey and more, you had that with a couple of other people where you could tell at the end, they may flip, but they were really kind of using. Now we look back at it. They were using LSU for a visit for more hype, right? To get more dollars. So I think Lane and them are being very intentional on who they want there. And then having someone like Ed emerge and get hired at LSU kind of has built that rapport with these players who are like, man, I grew up watching Ed O.” Analyst said.
